The winery

Hardly any other winery produces absolute top wines with such consistency as Elio Grasso. Frequently all three Barolo wines of the estate are to be found among the best of Piedmont and among the best wines of Italy. In addition, the wines mature particularly well.

When wine critic Antonio Galloni re-tasted the best Barolo from the vintages 1989 and 1990, none of the Elio Grasso wines scored below 96 out of 100 points. Both 1989s were close to perfection, earning 98 points each. Monika Larner of RobertParker.com recently awarded Elio Grassos Barolo Riserva Runcot with the magical 100/100 ‘Parker Points’.

Gianluca Grasso, who has been responsible for the wines since 1995, is an idealist in the best sense of the word. He strives for the perfect expression of his vineyards and grapes in the respective wines.

The wines

The results from the fragrant Dolcetto to the complex Barolo Riserva Runcot always show extremely exciting wines that precisely express the character of their origin.
