- The Fontodi 2022 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Panzano Vigna del Sorbo is an organic wine with a broad and rich personality. On some levels, I prefer the Terrazze San Leonlino, but the two wines are similar. This historic wine represents a selection of fruit from a nine-hectare plot with vines that are over 50 years old on shale galestro soils. It ages in barrique and French oak foudre of 24 months. Vigna del Sorbo is more horizontal in delivery, with lots of dark fruit, developed tannins and a plump mouthfeel. Production is 25,000 bottles.
