Nach mehreren Jahren der Mitarbeit auf dem Weingut, kauften die Geschwister Federica und Mirko Martini 2015 das genommierte Weingut Gianni Voerzio in La Morra von ihrem Cousin. Der Name des Weinguts wurde von Gianni Voerzio in Voerzio Martini geändert und ein umfangreiches Erneuerungsprogramm gestartet. Mittlerweile verfügt das Gut über herausragende neue und erweiterte Weinbergslagen wie La Serra, Monvigliero und Cerequio. This wine was my overall favorite in this flight of new releases from Voerzio Martini, an under-the radar producer in La Morra with a famous surname shared by others in the region. The 2020 Barolo La Serra shows focus and medium-plus intensity with a pretty package of conventional Nebbiolo aromas to follow with violet, iris root, crushed stone, blackcurrant and spice. I like the sharpness of this wine. Some 8,000 bottles were released.
