The Winery

Herve Kerlann, owner of Chateau de Laborde, has perfected the art of finding and raising the potential of some of the most intriguing vineyards in Burgundy. While the estate owns prestigious vineyards in Gevrey Chambertin, the focus is also on single vineyards in the surrounding areas that resemble the soil and micro climate of the prominent 1er Cru and Grand Cru sites. All wines are made with traditional methods respecting the characteristics of individual vineyards.

The wines of Chateau de Laborde are mostly based on small plots of land with vines that are often 60 years and older. The resulting wines are limited editions of 600 to 900 bottles for single vineyard wines. Similarly, base cuvees are limited to 3000 or 4000 bottles.

With his carefully crafted wines, Herve Kerlann proves that it is possible to make intriguing wines from privileged vineyards in Burgundy that offer both value and quality simultaneously.
